One of the things we must take into account when doing maintenance to our computer is to have the right tools to do the job efficiently, because this process is to improve the physical appearance and performance of our team, so you can perform the tasks much faster.

We must do this very carefully as we can cause irreversible damage to our PC, having the obligation to buy a new piece or in the worst case a new computer. If you do not know how to disassemble or change any of its parts, it is best to consult an experienced person for a little guidance.

Many people by ignorance often do certain incorrect procedures when it comes to maintenance of their computers, personally in the workshop have come to me many computers by recklessness of the owners, for that reason in this small article I will mention some things you should not do with your PC.

This is very common among people, wiping with a damp cloth is one of the biggest mistakes you can make because it can cause serious damage to your screen. Water can cause some short producing image errors which are irreversible.

The best thing you can do is to buy a special product for these cases and with a piece of cotton pass it gently over the surface to avoid stains, remember that this must be done with the monitor off and disconnected from the power. If you do not have the special liquid you can use alcohol trying to use a small amount.

Always have a soft, dry cloth to wipe over the screen once the liquid has passed through, this way you can ensure that the liquid does not run any risk of passing through the bottom of the monitor. Remember that this process must be done gently without sinking the cloth into the monitor.

Believe it or not many people make this mistake, cleaning a running PC can cause one or more internal parts to be damaged, making our computer unusable.

The best thing to do in this case is to turn off the PC completely, disconnect it from any power source and do the respective maintenance, such as cleaning the memories, fan coolers, dissipaters, motherboard, among other components.

Once this task is done make sure all parts are connected properly and turn on the computer, if for some reason does not give video surely something placed wrong, just rectify and check again its operation.

Lately both in forums and on the internet I have seen many people using very strange things as a replacement for thermal paste, surprising me every time of what we may be able to save a few pennies from our pocket.

But personally I do not recommend you to do this, because these products were not designed for that purpose and if they fall into a part of the circuit they can cause a very serious electrical short. Also, anyone who has used toothpaste as a thermal paste has had the bad experience that when cleaning it becomes a very difficult task since it gets as hard as a resin.

In the market there are a lot of companies that manufacture thermal paste, some of them cheap, others a little bit expensive, but it is preferable to put a good thermal paste on your equipment which will protect it and keep it at good temperatures for a long period of time.

These were some tips that I consider important when it comes to maintenance of your gaming PC, it is up to the consumer to follow them so that their computer lasts as long as possible.
