Since I started in the world of videogames I have considered music a very important element, whenever I played some new title I paid a lot of attention to this section, if I managed to catch me there were many chances that the videogame would become one of my favorites.
Although I'm not a musician and I don't have a similar career, I've always had a good musical ear, not only in the world of video games but also in movies and music groups, but where I specialize most is undoubtedly in my favorite hobby.
Over the years I knew games with unforgettable music, Top Gear and Chrono Trigger for the Super Nintendo are examples of many, but there is a saga that since its inception has simply left me impacted, each delivery offers you an incredible musical environment, improving with the passing of the years, this is Final Fantasy.
The person in charge of creating all the soundtracks in this saga is Nobuo Uematsu, a musical composer who has been working in the videogame area for years. However, he is known worldwide for making the soundtrack for Final Fantasy (more than 15 games), making one of the most formidable works in this industry.
I'm sure you're wondering why it's so special. Imagine for a moment that you are watching a movie, if there is an action scene it must be accompanied by a soundtrack that fits it, also if there is a suspense or romance scene that must have it, Nobuo Uematsu achieves this to perfection in all Final Fantasy games.
There are many songs that I love from this universe, choosing which are my favorites can be difficult, however, I chose the most iconic of the entire saga to serve as an example, with a brief explanation to give context, if you have not played any of these games do not worry, just listen to the melodies and if it is with headphones much better.
Final Fantasy VI has one of the best introductions regarding music, here we can see how 3 of the members of the game walk to a cold and dark horizon, at the top shows us the credits of the most relevant developers, as if it were a movie, this song has the name Terra´s Theme. It is worth noting that this video game was released in 1994 for the Super Nintendo, so its sound is somewhat limited compared to current consoles.
Final Fantasy VII has a lot of addictive songs, but I consider the most epic the melody of the final battle, every second of it tells you that you're fighting a worthy enemy, plus it's a battle you've waited in the whole game, not to become spoilers I will not show you the fight, instead I will show you a symphony orchestra that will explain through their instruments how great this song is.
Once again we return to Final Fantasy VI, in one of the scenes of the game we must see an opera, here we will listen to one of the songs that exploits the full potential of the Super Nintendo, her name is Aria di Mezzo Carratere and has been catalogued as one of the musical masterpieces of the entire saga, then I'll show you the version of the console and an additional orchestra, just sit back and relax to listen to this excellent piece.
Theme of Love is one of the musical pieces of Final Fantasy IV that represents one of the most romantic moments of the game, for the limited that was the Super Nintendo chip sounded simply great, however, was improved in its remake for Nintendo DS. Kara Comparetto, musical artist and YouTuber released a piano version that is one of my favorites, just prepare your ears to listen to this masterpiece.
To culminate we have To Zanarkand, soundtrack that served as an introduction to the video game Final Fantasy X for the PlayStation 2, despite being just a piano perfectly matches the scene that shows the game.
