Hello, everyone. Today I’d like to share with you a new piece from the Pokémon collection I’m working on. This first-generation collection is quite far along, so I’m bringing you a new Pokémon: Tangela.

Saludos amigos. Hoy me gustaría compartir con ustedes una nueva pieza de la colección de Pokémon que estoy haciendo. Esta colección de primera generación esta bastante avanzada y por eso les traigo un nuevo Pokémon, Tangela.

Los invito a acompañarme en el proceso creativo de esta figurita, la número 114 en el Pokedex. Vamos a empezar!

Materials

The materials I used to make Tangela are basically the same ones I usually use for all the other Pokémon: colored modeling clay, glue, and wire.

Tangela has a strange shape. It looks like a little thing with lots of blue vines wrapped around it. That’s why I started making this figurine by shaping a black sphere. Then I made two flattened white circles, onto which I glued two little black dots for the eyes. I glued each eye in the center of the black sphere.

Materiales

Los materiales que utilicé para hacer a Tangela son básicamente los mismos que suelo utilizar para todos los demás Pokémon: Plastilina de colores, pegamento y alambre.

La forma de Tangela es la de una forma extraña. Parece una pequeña cosita con un montón de enredaderas azules alrededor. Por eso comencé haciendo esta figurita moldeando una esfera de color negro. Luego hice dos círculos aplastados de color blanco, donde pegué dos puntitos de color negro para los ojos. Cada ojo lo pegué en el centro de la esfera negra.

For the vines, I made a bunch of blue plasticine strands, all roughly the same size. I took the black sphere and, starting from the bottom and working my way up, began arranging all these vines in a haphazard manner, while still maintaining a shape similar to that of the original character.

Para las enredaderas hice un montón de líneas de plastilina azul, todas casi del mismo tamaño. Tomé la esfera de color negro y alrededor de esta, de abajo hacia arriba, comencé a colocar todas estas enredaderas de forma desordenada, pero manteniendo una forma similar a la del personaje original.

On the front, I placed a pair of vines shaped like bangs, very similar to the way Tangela has these vines above her eyes.

En la parte delantera coloqué un par de enredaderas en forma de flequillo, muy similar a como tiene Tangela estas enredaderas encima de los ojos.

The last thing I made were the little feet. I made these out of red modeling clay, and as you can see in the picture below, I added two small pieces of wire to give the piece some support.

Lo último que hice fueron los piecitos. Estos los hice con plastilina de color rojo y, como pueden ver en la imagen de abajo, le coloqué dos trocitos de alambre para darle soporte a la pieza.

And that’s how the figurine was completed. Below you can see a series of photos of the final result:
