Greetings friends. As you know, I am making a collection of dragon ball characters. Among the collection I have several figurines; however I also came up with the idea of making a keychain for the collection, a dragon radar keychain.
This is an artifact that is used in Dragon Ball to search for the dragon spheres, so it's great to have it in the collection along with the spheres which I also have. Something I will show you once I have the whole collection complete and assembled in my closet.

Saludos amigos. Cómo bien saben, estoy haciendo una colección de personajes de dragón ball. Entre la colección tengo varias figuritas; sin embargo también se me ocurrió hacer un llavero para dicha colección, un llavero del radar del dragón.

Well, to make this keychain I can't use plasticine or any white material. On the contrary, I have to use a material that hardens like clay or, in this case, flexible dough.
The flexible dough is a water-based material that dries in the open air, it is also known as cold clay.
Well, I used this material to mold, wire to give support and the ring of the key ring; on the other hand I used paint and glue to paint and give a protective layer for the piece.

Bien, para hacer este llavero no puedo usar plastilina o algún material blanco. Al contrario, tengo que usar un material que se endurezca como arcilla o, en este caso, masa flexible.
La masa flexible es un material a base de agua que seca al aire libre, también se le conoce como arcilla fría también.
Pues bien, usé este material para moldear, alambre para dar soporte y la argolla del llavero; por otra parte usé pintura y pegamento para pintar y dar una capa protectora para la pieza.
Well, I cut the material into a small piece which I molded into a flattened tortilla with a convex shape.
This is the shape that the green screen of the dragon radar has, a convex shape, that is, rounded upwards. So, I molded this piece as the initial shape for the whole piece.
Pues bien, el material lo corté en un pequeño trocito el cual moldeé hasta lograr una tortilla aplastada y de forma convexa.
Es la forma que tiene la pantalla verde del radar del dragón, una forma convexa, es decir, redondeada hacia arriba. Así pues, moldeé esta pieza como forma inicial para toda la pieza.
Using a cutter I began to make horizontal lines along the entire circular piece. I didn't make the lines so deep, because I didn't want to cut the piece, but to make very shallow lines that would be marked in the material.
Valiéndome de un cutter comencé a hacer líneas horizontales a lo largo de toda la pieza circular. No hice las lineas tan profundas, pues no quería cortar la pieza, sino hacer líneas muy superficiales pero que se marcarán en el material.
It should be noted that I started with horizontal lines, but then I made vertical lines to make the numerous squares that this screen has. I will paint them later and they will look great, as you can see in the image at the beginning, but for now this will be like this, with vertical and horizontal lines to make these squares.
Cabe destacar que comencé con líneas horizontales, pero luego hice líneas verticales para hacer los numerosos cuadritos que tiene está pantalla. Ya después los pintaré y quedarán geniales, como ven en la imagen del inicio, pero por ahora esto quedará así, con líneas verticales y horizontales para hacer estos cuadritos.
After this continue making another pancake the same size as the radar screen. This is to place it on the back of the part, hence the same size.

As the flexible dough is a water-based material, I used water to glue the screen of what we could call the back cover.
A continuación pueden ver cómo iba quedando la pieza después de colocar la otra forma circular en la parte trasera.
Como la masa flexible es un material hecho a base de agua, usé agua para pegar la pantalla de lo que podríamos llamar como cubierta trasera.
For the side I used a piece of material which I extended with the help of a small roller.
With this I cut a long strip of material which would serve as protection for the sides of the piece.
Para el lateral usé un trozo de material el cual extendí con ayuda de un pequeño rodillo.
Con este corté una larga tira de material el cual serviría como protección para los laterales de la pieza.
I glued this strip of flexible dough around the piece and joined it at the top, as you can see in the image below, where you can see the union of the two ends of the flexible dough strip. As I did before, I used water to glue these two parts together.
Esta tira de masa flexible la pegué alrededor de la pieza y la uní en la parte superior, tal cómo pueden ver en la imagen de abajo, en dónde se visualiza la unión de los dos extremos de la tira de masa flexible. Tal cómo hice anteriormente, usé agua para pegar estás dos partes.
In these three small shapes is the last piece of the radar, which would be the upper part, where the radar button goes.
One of these pieces is attached to the radar ring that I glued around it earlier; another is a cylinder that attaches the piece I just mentioned to the radar button; the last piece is, as you can imagine, the button, which is shaped like a mushroom.
En estas tres pequeñas formas se encuentra la última pieza del radar, que sería la parte superior, donde va el botón del radar.
Una de las piezas va unida al anillo del radar que pegué anteriormente a su alrededor; otro es un cilindro que une la pieza que acabo de mencionar con el botón del radar; la última pieza es, cómo pueden imaginar, el botón, el cual tiene forma de seta.
Below you can see how these pieces look joined together with the help of a wire that also serves as a support for the key ring.

Finally came the painting process. I used green to paint the screen. Because of the lines I had made earlier, the paint collects more on these parts, so these grooves are darker than the other smooth parts (the squares). So it wasn't that hard to make the screen green and have the lines show on the screen.
Por último vino el proceso de pintura. Usé el verde para pintar la pantalla. Por las líneas que había hecho antes, la pintura se acumula más en estas partes, por lo tanto estas ranuras son más oscuras que las otras partes lisas (los cuadros). Así que no fue tan difícil hacer la pantalla verde y que se vieran las líneas en la pantalla.
The last thing I did was to paint the radar cover with silver paint; on the other hand, I painted yellow the little dots that I placed on the screen, which are the locations of the dragon spheres; the central triangle that serves as a guide I painted red.
Ya lo último que hice fue pintar la cubierta del radar con pintura plateada; por otra parte pinté de amarillo los puntitos que coloqué en la pantalla, que son las ubicaciones de las esferas del dragón; el triángulo central que sirve de guía lo pinté de color rojo.
This way the keychain was finished. Below you can see a series of photographs of the final result:
