I'm not a tree doctor but i just learned a few minutes ago what one is called: An arborist. This is a real job by the way and it is a "tree-surgeon." It sounds to me like it is a person who knows a bunch about chopping wood but if that is your job then good on ya buddy. There are certainly worse things to do for a living i'm sure.
Recently, this place near my house that had some rather large and wonderful shade trees decided to do a bit of pruning and wow, did they ever go bananas with that chainsaw. They butchered the hell out of those trees and now the shade is completely gone.
I'm not gonna try to tell anyone what to do with their own property but was this really the best they were able to do? Are these trees even going to survive having this much of their "bodies" cut off?
Trees are pretty resilient I guess because on this second one you can see some sprigs already starting to come out of the giant stumps that they cut off. Meanwhile, underneath a lot of this there is an area that looks as though it is meant for gardening. If they cut the trees to shreds in order to grow their own food underneath ok, I guess I can get on board with that but in the meantime it just seems a bit funny for me that the "pruning of the trees" has turned into a massacre.
On this particular one I really want to get my hands on some resistance bands and make a gigantic slingshot for throwing watermelons across the road.
It's none of my business because it is their property not mine but the only thing that sucks for me is that the footpath on the other side of the fence now sits in direct sunlight all day long and it is unbearably hot to go on my walks now.
I guess I just can't understand why anyone would do this. These trees were awesome, really tall, and made the whole area cooler. Now they just look like someone shoved some giant sticks in the ground.
