One would think 2 years would be enough time for the World Health Organization to "complete the evaluation process" of its review of Cannabis. As the room in Vienna, filled with government representatives from all over the world, NGO's, Cannabis policy reform advocates, industry representatives, patients, doctors, scientists, and the press, waited for the WHO findings, listeners were surprised by the announcement that the WHO was postponing its recommendations for the rescheduling of Cannabis.

No date was provided for the release.

The data from the 2 year scientific assessment of Cannabis is also to be kept confidential, as stated by the spokesperson for the WHO. In 60 years of drug reform, this is the first time that data, requested by the UN, has been denied.
