Thanks to the finite speed of light, the world around is, is a world from the past.
This concept is brought into sharp focus everytime I spy a distant star twinkling brightly on a clear, cold night. I wonder how long it took for its light to reach my eyes and the epic journey it must have faced.
I wonder still if it's there anymore. The light from its dying throes might still be on its way.
Next time you get a chance, take a moment and look up to let some starlight fall into view. You can't help but feel humbled.
