Fellow STEEMITeers
I've just joined STEEMIT and (probably) like you, I'm impressed with the concept and dizzy at the thought of its potential.
This is my first upload so please forgive the rather utilitarian style but I felt this is an issue that needs to be aired quickly.
Complicated passwords are all well and good.
Complicated passwords with the option of 2-factor-authentication are better.
Seems this is the de-facto way to go, with many popular websites giving this option to safeguard our accounts.
At the moment, our STEEMIT accounts are wholly in the hands of the people who maintain the site, if we had 2-factor-authentication set up...we'd have more control over our fate.
If you agree, please contact STEEMIT support and let them know what you think.
If we get enough people together singing from the same hymn sheet, they'll need to sit up and listen.
As it gets more popular, it'll become a bigger target for the bad guys.
This will only help strengthen STEEMIT for the long term. Let's not be victims :-)
