I was tilting pretty hard last week with my lineups. My biggest mistake was playing Coutee and Jermaine Kearse in a lot of leagues. I couldn't even win my money back 馃
Last weeks picks
Joe Flacco 19.56
Duke Johnson 5.9
Bilal Powell 3.5
Alshon Jeffery 21.8
Sterling Shepard 19.2
Keke Coutee 1.3
CJ Uzomah 9.3
Defense N/A
I think the process for recommending some of these players made a lot of sense. However I still want to crawl under a rock for bombing so hard on a couple. Duke Johnson's usage after dealing Hyde was the biggest head scratcher for me. Time to pick up the pieces and move on to week 8.
QB - Drew Brees $5600 @ Minnesota
There really isn't much need for explanation here. It's Drew Brees vs Kirk Cousins and a Vikings D ranked 28th vs QBs, and it's a dome game. Must play in any format.
RB - Phillip Lindsay $5200 @ Kansas City
This price makes no sense me but I'm not complaining. Lindsay has come out of nowhere and been out snapping and producing teammate and 2nd round pick Royce Freeman. Kansas City has been allowing a ton of yards and points to almost every opponent this season, but their exceptional offense has forced opponents to play catch-up. If Denver can keep the pace, Lindsay should be in for a great day.
David Johnson $6700 vs San Francisco
I'm not super confident in the ceiling with this pick honestly. But with Johnson being the only weapon with consistent usage, and the hope Byron Leftwich can be semi better at calling plays than Mike McCoy, I think most football fans and fantasy gamers are hoping to see one of the league's best playmakers finally used properly. With Johnson's fresh start comes a great matchup vs San Francisco. The 9ers are ranked 28th vs running backs. Combine that with Johnson's average of 15 plus touches a game and even with the Cards being dreadful on offense, Johnson has managed to score over 10 points in all but 1 game this season. He may not b awwe the best play ever but for the talent, workload, and matchup he could be a decent cash play. Another sweet RB consideration would be Marlon Mack @ $5400 @ Oakland since He is starting to dominate the backfield touches.
WR - John Brown $5900 vs NY Jets
After coming off an explosive week vs New Orleans I was certain Browns price would exceed 6k. Even then Brown is one of the strongest WR plays out there. Brown is currently in the top 20 in red zone receptions, receiving yards, yards after the catch, and targets. He's also top 10 in air yards and touchdowns at the position. With Baltimore's passing volume and Browns target share in the offense, he will always have a good floor with a chance to take it to the house.
Allen Robinson $5600 vs NY Jets
Robinson is Mitchell Trubisky鈥檚 favorite WR target this season and facing the Jets (30th vs WRs) this week, he definitely seems like an intriguing play. The best part about his price and matchup is that Trubisky looks to be in full DGAF mode the last 3 weeks doubling his yards per attempt from the previous 3 games Chicago has played. With that play Robinson's QB is now ranking 3rd in deep pass attempts, and 11th in red zone pass attempts. The hope here is that if Trubisky can build on his momentum and improve his deep ball play even more, we could see a big week vs the Jets. Not sure how high scoring the game will be but at this price you can surround Robinson with much more fire power.
Stefon Diggs $6700 vs New Orleans
Teammate Adam Thielen is stealing some thunder but Diggs is also having a great season. He's been scoring over 10 fantasy points in all but 2 games this season. He's also seen 10 targets or more in all but 2 games. This game looks like it will be a shootout and with the Saints ranked worst vs WRs, I'd make sure to play him this week.
TE - Vance McDonald $3700 vs Cleveland
Vance has really burst on to to scene this year. He's scored 10 or more fantasy points including his big week 1 with 24.2 points. He's averaging 5 receptions per game and 11 fantasy points per game. I think he's the must start tight end this week vs the Browns who are towards the bottom vs the position. If you want a slightly cheaper option CJ Uzomah makes for another great play at $3500 vs the Bucs. Tampa has allowed a top 6 TE in each of their games this season.
Defense - Pittsburgh $2300 vs Cleveland
Last week I didn't have enough time to research some bottom tier defenses and this weeks low tier defenses are too much of a gamble this week. I picked Pittsburgh because they are 2nd in sacks and the Browns are one of the worst teams in sacks given up. The added pressure could also force a turnover or two.
