The better late than never edition 馃榿
Ok so I'll never recommend Austin Hooper again. In a fantasy league he'd probably be fine as a floor play but he's just not getting enough looks or TDs. I'm sure he'll explode this week haha.
QB - Joe Flacco $5400 @ Cleveland
I've been touting Flacco nearly every week and until he goes over 6k he may be an every week play. He's continuing his 40 plus attempts per game and playing very well on top of it. He's a high floor and ceiling play, no matter the opponent.
RB - David Johnson $6300 @ San Francisco
This is an incredible price for one of the leagues best backs. Unfortunately he's on one of the leagues worst offenses. Arizona has run the least amount of plays in the entire league. Hopefully the addition of Josh Rosen can spark some offensive revival. On the plus side SF ranks 8th in points given up to running backs and Johnson has seen an increase in snaps each week this season and he's finally getting some usage in the slot as well. The niners offense wasn't setting the world on fire before Jimmy GQs injury and isn't going to get better with CJ Bethard leading the way. Johnson may have some increased opportunity in this game.
RB - Aaron Jones $4300 @ Detroit
With 2 weeks in the books for Jones it's pretty evident that he is the most talented back in green bay. He's rushing for 7 yards per carry and saw a pretty decent increase in snaps from week 3 to 4 and in week 4 Jamal Williams carried the ball the same number of times as Jones (11 attempts 26 yards) and failed to make an impact. Williams has been average at best. If Jones plays well again vs Detroit you can expect Williams to be fazed out of their game plan.
WR - Marquez Valdes-Scantling $3300 @ Detroit
With the possibility of all 3 Green Bay WRs being out, the door will be wide open for Scantling to get some points. The setting is great being in a dome vs a terrible Lions defense. Being a 2nd or 3rd option in most offenses isn't really the greatest thing ever. But you can ask guys like James Jones and even Geronimo Allison how beneficial it can be being the 2nd or 3rd guy attached to Aaron Rodgers. This may be a boom or bust play but for the price, and other roster building possibilities this could be a very rewarding play.
WR - Courtland Sutton $3400 @ NY Jets
Sutton is now Tied for snaps with Demaryus Thomas at 72% so the playing time is there. The only issue that he's had is inconsistent targets. He is averaging about 5 targets per game which isn't bad though. The jets have played well vs slot WRs and tight ends and if that trend continues Emmanuel Sanders may be held in check a bit allowing Sutton to convert some big plays.
WR - Taywan Taylor $4000 @ Buffalo
Things are really starting to add up in Taylor's favor. First the unfortunate injury to Walker. Next the release of Matthews. Then the breakout game with 9 targets, 7 receptions 7 and 77 yards. Tennessee is facing one of the worst teams in football and won't be occupied by their top corner Tre'davious White. Huge potential for an even bigger breakout explosion.
TE - Geoff Swaim $2800 @ Houston
This play is more about the Texans not being able to stop anything in the middle of the field. At this price you could do way worse. Swaim is the most targeted TE on Dallas. He has had 1 game with 0 targets so the floor could be extra low. But with the Dallas passing attack not being one to stretch the field, and a bad Texans pass defense, it should allow a decent enough cushion for Swaim to be a viable option.
Defense - Dallas $2300 @ Houston
This pick goes against using the bottom 5 defenses, but it may be worth paying up this week. The Texans have turned the ball over in every game this season, and the Dallas D line is 2nd in the league with sacks. If their offense can play ball control and snag a turnover and a sack, it may be worth it this week. Otherwise go with the giants.
I didn't put any Thursday plays in since in just getting this out now. But if anyone sees this before tonight's games then Hynes $4600, Grant $4500, and Rogers $4400 from Indianapolis should all be solid plays.
