QB - Baker Mayfield $5500 @ Cincinnati
Baker is continuing to show why he was taken 1st overall in this year's draft. He's averaging 2 TD passes a game since becoming the full time starter and the Browns offense has never looked better. Really it would have been more difficult to look worse. Over the last 4 weeks he's had some pretty soft defenses and over that span he's averaging 19.3 fantasy ppg, and this week at Cincinnati he faces another. At $5500 we can be thankful this holiday season and play him everywhere.
RB - Matt Breida $5700 @ Tampa
Breidas matchup at Tampa isn't the most attractive considering the 9ers are traveling from the west coast. He should see some decent volume though considering San Francisco's offense mainly runs through him and George Kittle. And luckily for them Tampa has one of the softest defenses in the league. There is a chance Tampa could pull away early and force San Francisco to throw a ton, but Breida is a pretty interesting play at $5700.
RB - Peyton Barber $3900 vs San Francisco
One Garbage run defense vs another in Tampa and if you are playing tournaments this weekend a Barber and Breida combo could be a great move. Barber has been mostly unimpressive but he's regularly seeing volume at around 16 touches per game. With that volume he's been up and down but has been able to be very productive vs bad run defenses.
WR - Josh Gordon $6400 @ NY Jets
This has to be the most targets you can get at this price. Since coming to New England, Gordon has been telepathically linked with Tom Brady. Since his arrival he's been seeing around 9 targets a game, and 11 per over his last 2. His catch rate has been incredibly low however, but I'd fade that considering the volume. Strong cash play
WR - Courtland Sutton $4400 vs Pittsburgh
Since DT was traded Sutton has seen 2 more targets per game, and last week led the Broncos WRs in yards. Even before the DT trade he had a pretty modest floor even considering how bad Case Keenum has been. He's had an impressive average of 20 yards per reception as well. He's a highly talented and highly efficient WR and with his workload steadily increasing and given the state of the Broncos season I could see them handing over the keys and making Sutton the primary receiving option. Decent cash play.
WR - John Ross $4100 @ Cleveland
Strong tournament play if AJ Green is still sidelined with an injury. In the past 2 weeks Ross has seen around 6 targets a game. He's capable of beating a defense deep and while the Browns D has greatly improved, they have still given up big plays.
TE - David Njoku $3800 vs Cincinnati
Cincinnati is bad vs the tight end and Njoku could ball out at any given time. This has been one of his best prices this season. Id lock him in to most of my lineups this week.
Defense - Tampa Bay $2400 vs San Francisco
Tampa may be able to run up the score quickly and force San Francisco to pass more. We haven't seen Mullens in a shootout yet, and considering how bad most teams play when traveling west to east, this could be a sneaky good play. It could also be very risky since Tampa can't stop anything or put pressure on opposing QBs. The hope lies in their offense really.
This article is a tad rushed due to the holiday and also my daughter's 2nd birthday this week. Certainly isnt my greatest work (not that I'm Peter king or anything). I should be able to dig a little deeper into stats next week. I definitely think these are solid plays though, mostly for tournaments
