Last Weeks Picks
Mayfield 22.64
Duke Johnson 12.60
Dion Lewis 7.80
Tre'Quan Smith 0
Danny Amendola 14.20
Maurice Harris 10.60
Austin Hooper 21.60
LA Rams 5.00
I feel pretty lame for not having Corey Davis on this list last week instead of chasing Tre'Quan's TD upside. Even as a tournament play there was probably better options. I had a decent amount of teams with Amendola, Davis, Harris combo in cash games and that worked out. Unfortunately on those same teams I went against my better judgement and paid up for the Jets defense. I was able to cash in some cases by playing Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon.
On to week 11
QB - Marcus Mariota $5500 @ Indianapolis
Mariota seems to have fully returned to his old form and just in time for the Titans schedule to get easier from a passing standpoint. Over the past 2 games Mariota has been averaging 23 ppg. That is almost double the production he's seen in his previous 6 matches. I'd ride the hot hand vs the Colts and their mediocre secondary.
RB - David Johnson $7500 vs Oakland
Now I get that $7500 isn't a steal, and not typically a price range I tout. With Oakland looking like the next Cleveland, and Johnson's touches increasing by around 4 per game. The way Johnson has been utilized the past 2 weeks has also changed a lot since QB coach Byron Leftwich took over as offensive coordinator. If things keep looking up for Johnson, his price may not be in the sub 8k for much longer. And facing Oakland, the matchup couldn't be better.
RB - Dion Lewis $4800 @ Indianapolis
If not for Derrick Henry stealing some carries inside the red zone for TDs, Lewis would have
had a fine outing last week. He's still out carrying Henry by a rate of 4 to 1. Henry is no threat to stealing the workload in Tennessee and the Colts defense is pretty middle of the road vs RBs and with his current workload, he should have a great floor this week with some high touchdown upside. He's at the very least worthy of a flex in tourney's.
WR - Alshon Jeffery $6300 @ New Orleans
Philly. On the road. New Orleans Defense. That's really almost all the breakdown needed. This game should be a shootout of epic proportions and Jeffery has been seeing near league high target shares since his return from injury. At $6300 he's a plug and play.
WR - Amari Cooper $5400 @ Atlanta
So I guess it's finally ok to start trusting Cooper in lineups again? Against Atlanta I'd be willing to take a shot. The obvious play for that game would be Zeke given how bad the Falcons have been vs opposing running backs. But if you can't fit him in a lineup then Cooper may be a nice compromise. Since joining Dallas Cooper looks totally re energized. He was displaying burst and footwork I haven't seen since his 2nd year. With little competition for targets I don't see his 9 targets per game (over the last 2 games) slowing down.
WR - Devin Funchess $5100 @ Detroit
It's my man again. I know I've recommended him a ton of weeks. Some weeks were awesome and some weren't. The past couple weeks have especially been a drag. The good news is that it has kept his price suppressed. Funchess is still keeping up the majority of the WR target share, and with that also carrying the most red zone targets. Detroit as a whole is pretty terrible. Id expect the Panthers to walk all over them in this game. Much like the Cooper pick, McCaffey is most likely the better play but if you can't fit him in your running back slot I'd throw Funchess in at WR.
TE - Mark Andrews $2600 vs Cincinnati
Bit of a deeper play but the matchup is excellent. Cincinnati has been terrible vs opposing tight ends this season giving up an average of 10 fantasy ppg, 5 receptions per game, and a total of 5 touchdowns over the last 9 matchups. With that said Baltimore utilizes 3 tight ends and Andrews is sporting a pretty low snap share. Whenever he is on the field he has been the primary TE receiving option. He's leading all Ravens tight ends in every category that matters and even with his low snap share he's top 20 in the league in receptions, targets, yards, and air yards. Lamar Jackson could be in the mix this week. We haven't seen a ton from Jackson yet but I doubt if he plays it lowers Andrews floor at all. At this price you could do way worse. If he can match his 3 game average of 7.6ppg he'll be worth every penny. Then load up on safe running backs.
Defense - Dallas $2200 @ Atlanta
Possibly the only portion of this team that has their shit together. They have given up the 7th least total yards and rank towards the top in points allowed and touchdowns. Only problem is the lack of turnovers and more recently the sacks have slowed down. Dallas does like to play ball control a bit so my hope here is that hopefully they can take advantage of Atlanta's poor defense and pound the ball hopefully keeping it relatively low scoring. They have only allowed over 200 passing yards in 4 of 9 games with a maximum of 250 passing yards this season. They've also held teams to under 100 rushing yards in 4 games this season. You could pay up for defense but I find in most cases I typically get burned.
