In terms of the comedic value of the video, it get's an A+ in my book.

From naïve innocence, the path inevitably leads to the realisation that innocence is no guarantee of avoiding painful experiences. If the path from innocence leads to cynicism, then that is already one step further. I see the song as cynical, it picks up on the realisation of the person who discovers that there are powers in the world that are difficult to counter.

I can't find any fallacy in this interpretation. I'd add that there's also the "misery loves company" thing going on as well.. In that a person in a sarcastic "asshole" state may be masking frustrations with this corrosive state of being, (depending on the state/perception of the one or one getting asshole'd on) and the video provides a type of validation or acceptance like "I'm not alone, yay! He's an asshole too!!!"

They have power, so they have a lot of influence. That gives plenty of reason to be desperate or angry. Cynicism is one way of dealing with this, although it is not the best way. I think the song contains a hint of nihilism or fatalism, not sure, because if the world is an asshole, I can behave exactly like an asshole.

The majority probably do not ever have these realizations, which is kind of the point I think. It provides a type of blanket, which can influence a complete delusion.

Whenever someone says they have freedom of thought or free will, (With flicks like these?) then we're up in the other conversation ;D

It's certainly a lot to wrap the mind around.

In terms of nihilism or fatalism, I'm not sure either, but it seems plausible.

The cynical joy of making something out of the act of displeasure is certainly familiar to many. The only question is what I get out of it in the long term. There is certainly an element of truth here, if it makes bigotry look like the antithesis of adherence to nothing.

Absolutely, I'm no stranger to experiencing some cynical joy once in a while, especially considering the type of comedy I grew up watching lol, and really if I want to find some cynical joy, I need not step further than my front porch to watch the show.

The egoic tough guy act that says "I can do what I want because I have the nuclear fuckin' weapons." is another interesting element.

Because if I have to throw a bomb at someone, I'd say that's acting out of fear.

Since my friend has brought the word attack into the earlier portion of the debate, I'm going to have to strap up and get ready for my best skills, maybe tomorrow after I process it a bit, lovin' it! :D
