On the first time that I saw a Tweet that says the crypto market is being manipulated, I just think of it as a non-substantial claim. Maybe I’m not too convinced that a market is as tough as crypto can be easily be twisted as the current week. The continuous drop in the prices of many cryptos incites FUD to those who just entered the game and are unsure about the coin in which they put their money into. Those who just bought for the short-term gain are the ones that are disgusted with the current trend of the cryptos (especially BTC).
Imagine yourself buying a coin that with "store of value" as a use case and nothing else. These are the types of coins that don't have much utility. The only opportunity that you make something out of it is through a Defi platform that rewards you with their token by staking your coin on their platform.
If there is an option to be staked in a pool then that's a better position to be in. Otherwise, you will end up on a farm and be a Liquidity Provider and subject yourself to the dreaded Impermanent Loss. If the price of your coin continues to dwindle then that's going to be double jeopardy on your assets. You losing capital value while the rate of rewards is lowered as well. That's going to push your limits which will ultimately put your patience to the test. The moment you get of that LP, the impermanent loss becomes permanent. As a result, you will lose a big part of your capital.
These kinds of trouble can be avoided or mitigated when you invest in a coin or a project that has a solid use case and long-term prospect. Do research about the project, the roadmap, and the team.
Delineate every aspect of the project. If the project will remain relevant for the next 5 years or even 10 years then it's a project that is suitable to invest your money in.
Should I worry now?
Nah. I'm looking forward to the year 2025. It's too early to call it quits.
