Good day everyone!
For today’s entry in my 365-day photo challenge, I decided to go a little off my usual path. I love photographing nature, flowers, leaves, and anything that feels soft and alive, but this time I wanted something tougher, something with a bit more edge. So I went down to the park with one simple idea in mind: nuts and bolts.
Honestly, I wasn’t even sure if I’d find anything worth shooting. I thought I might spot one or two exposed bolts and call it a day. Turned out, there were plenty. Bolts on benches, bolts on railings, bolts holding things together quietly while everyone else walks past without noticing. Once I started looking, it felt like a mini treasure hunt.
I ended up taking a bunch of shots and arranged my favorites into a four-frame collage. Seeing them together made the whole set feel even more interesting. Individually, they’re just small parts of a bigger structure, but side by side, you can really appreciate the details: the shapes, the grooves, the way light hits the metal, the scratches that tell you it has been through weather and time.
There’s something cool about engineering design. These bolts are useful, they’re tough, and they look neat as well. They don’t ask for attention, but they deserve it. And today reminded me that photography isn’t always about finding “beautiful” subjects, sometimes it’s about noticing what’s already doing its job in the background.
I’m happy to be exploring new subjects, and I’m genuinely satisfied with today’s post.
Have a great day ahead!
