Whenever I take photos during my walk, I usually ask myself one simple question: what is the best angle for this subject? It may sound like a small thing, but this question is one of the reasons why I feel like I am learning more about photography every day.
During my walk, I found these flowers and I spent some time looking at them before taking the shots. I tried to see how the light falls on the petals, how the leaves create a darker background, and how the whole scene would appear in black and white. Since I enjoy this photography style, contrast is always something that I think about. The softness of the flowers becomes more visible when surrounded by darker leaves and shadows.
I think photography is not only about pressing the shutter. It is also about observing, waiting, and learning how to see things better. Nature keeps changing, and that is what makes it interesting. The same flower can look different depending on the time of day, the direction of the light, or even the mood that I have while taking the photo.
This is why I do not want to stop learning. There is always a new technique to try and a new detail to notice. Even simple flowers in the garden can teach me something if I am willing to slow down and look closely.
These are the kinds of observations that I want to share through my blog. Photography makes me appreciate nature more, and nature keeps reminding me that growth happens when we keep paying attention.
