Taking photos sometimes feels like foraging in a forest to me. I may not be searching for food or anything valuable in the traditional sense, but I am always looking around for something interesting that nature has to offer.
What makes it enjoyable is the feeling of discovery. Even when I am only exploring our backyard or walking around the garden, there is always something new to notice. A tiny flower, an unusual seed head, or a plant that I may have passed many times before can suddenly become an interesting subject once I look at it through the camera.
Nature is probably one of the best subjects for photography because it is constantly changing. Flowers bloom and eventually fade, plants grow in different directions, and even the lighting can completely change how something looks. This is one of the reasons why I want to keep recording these little moments whenever I have the chance.
I also like the idea that photography allows me to appreciate nature without disturbing it. I don't have to pick the flowers or remove anything from where it belongs. I can simply take a photo, leave everything as it is, and still bring a small piece of that moment with me.
The best part is being able to share these photos with a wider audience online. Something simple that I found in my garden can be seen and appreciated by people from different places.
Photography has taught me that exploring doesn't always require traveling far. Sometimes, there is already plenty to discover just outside our door.
