Finding My Own Style Through the Lens

When I first became interested in photography, I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I spent quite a bit of time looking at the work of professional photographers and trying to understand why their photos looked so good. Naturally, I ended up copying some of their techniques, compositions, and editing styles.

Of course, my photos were still very ordinary compared to theirs, but I think copying was part of the learning process. When you are completely new to something, sometimes the easiest way to begin is to observe what experienced people are doing and try it yourself.

Eventually, those little experiments made me even more interested in photography.

These black-and-white photos are another part of that journey. I find myself becoming more attracted to strong contrast, textures, dried leaves, flowers, and other simple subjects that I encounter during my walks. Sometimes, things that might not look particularly interesting at first become much more dramatic once I photograph them from a certain angle or convert them into black and white.

As I continue taking photos, one thing that keeps coming to my mind is how I can make my work feel more unique. I don't want to spend forever simply copying what other photographers are doing. I want to discover something that people might eventually recognize as my own style.

Maybe originality doesn't happen immediately. Perhaps it comes slowly after taking hundreds or even thousands of photos, experimenting with different ideas, and figuring out what really catches my eye.

Hopefully, someday I'll be able to look at my photos and feel that I have finally found something that is uniquely mine.

Until then, I'll just keep taking photos, experimenting, and enjoying the process.

Have a good day ahead!
