Morning walks will probably always be my favorite thing to do. There is something about the fresh air, the quiet surroundings, and the soft morning light that makes walking feel peaceful. However, there are also times when I feel the need to go outside regardless of what time it is.
That is why I sometimes go for a walk at night, especially after dinner. I find it relaxing, and it also gives me a chance to use some of the energy that I still have left from the day. There are nights when I simply don’t feel sleepy yet, so instead of staying inside and waiting for sleep to come, I would rather spend some time walking around. By the time I reach home, I usually feel more relaxed and ready to rest.
Of course, bringing my camera makes these walks even more interesting.
The photos I’m sharing today were taken during one of those walks. At night, plants become completely different photography subjects. Without the usual daylight, I have to depend more on the available light and find the right angle to create the contrast that I want.
I especially liked how the light passed through some of the leaves, revealing their fine lines and texture. In black and white, the bright edges against the deep shadows created a dramatic effect. Even an ordinary leaf can suddenly become interesting when light hits it in the right way.
I guess that is another reason why I enjoy walking at different times of the day. The same surroundings can offer something completely different depending on the light.
Have a good day ahead!
