A while ago, I started doing something just for fun, taking photos of super mundane objects. Nothing fancy, nothing “Instagram worthy”, just the kind of things you usually walk past without even noticing. Somehow, it became one of the most enjoyable parts of my routine.
That day, I managed to capture four little scenes that felt like they belonged together, so I arranged them in my usual window frame layout. I honestly don’t know how I came up with the idea of using a window frame style, but it works well for my posts. It gives the photos a sense of structure, like I’m opening four small windows into the same mood.
Since then, it has become a habit, I try to shoot at least four photos for every post. It motivates me to keep looking, because once I have the “four” in mind, I start hunting for details. Corners, textures, lines, tiny shadows, things that feel ordinary but quietly beautiful.
For this set, I focused on surfaces and shapes, a metal screw sitting on wood, the speckled pattern of stone tiles, a worn corner of a bench, and shadows falling on the ground like a blurred crowd. None of these subjects are special on their own, but together they create something that feels intentional.
And that’s the part I find amusing, arranging them. I don’t just randomly place the photos inside the frame. I think about balance, contrast, and how the lines talk to each other across the grid. It’s like a small puzzle that ends with a photo set.
Anyway, I hope you like this one.
Have a good day ahead.
