For this new set of snaps from the garden, I decided to create a new version of “fallen.” What I did was focus my camera on the things that had dropped to the ground—fallen flowers, leaves, and other little details that are often ignored. Even though they are no longer attached to the plant, I still see beauty in them, and that is something I wanted to share with everyone today.
Sometimes we pay most attention to flowers when they are fresh and blooming on the branch, but I think there is also something special about them after they fall. On the ground, they become part of a different kind of scene. Surrounded by leaves, tiny plants, and bits of nature, they create an interesting composition that feels raw, quiet, and artistic.
What makes this style even more fascinating for me is the texture and contrast. In black and white photography, those details stand out more strongly. The roughness of the dried leaves, the softness of fallen petals, and the contrast between light and shadow all come together beautifully. It gives ordinary subjects a more dramatic and artistic feel.
As I was taking these photos, I found myself reflecting on life as well. Sometimes falling is seen as failure, weakness, or loss. But nature reminds me that even in fallen moments, there is still beauty, value, and meaning. Not everything that falls is without purpose. Sometimes it simply becomes part of a new story, one that is quieter but still worth noticing.
That is one reason why I enjoy photography so much. It helps me see beauty in simple things and in places that others might overlook. Even something on the ground can become art if we take the time to really look at it.
