Since it’s Sunday, I managed to spend a little more time walking around the garden today. Sunday usually gives me more freedom to slow down, check what is happening outside, and simply enjoy the surroundings without thinking too much about the time.
It was quite hot today, and I noticed that some of the plants were already feeling the effect of the heat. So, while walking around, I decided to water some of them. There are plants that can handle warm weather very well, while others need a little help from us. I guess taking care of a garden also means paying attention to these small changes and responding whenever necessary.
Of course, I also brought my camera with me. It’s difficult for me to walk around the garden without finding something interesting to photograph, hehe.
For today’s photos, I focused mostly on textures and small details. I photographed fallen leaves, rough surfaces, stones, stems, and some fresh leaves growing between larger plants. These are very ordinary things that we might easily overlook, but once framed carefully, they can become interesting subjects.
That is one reason why I continue to enjoy black-and-white photography. Without the distraction of colors, I can focus more on shapes, patterns, light, shadows, and especially texture. Even a dry leaf lying on the ground can suddenly become something worth looking at.
Photography continues to remind me that we don’t always need to search far for interesting things. Sometimes, we just need to slow down and look more closely at what is already around us.
