There is a particular vine in our garden that seems to bloom all year round, but this time it looks like it’s giving more flowers than usual. I noticed it right away, the cluster feels fuller, almost like the plant is trying to show off. Maybe the rain has something to do with it. The past days have been wet, and the garden looks extra healthy because of it. If the vine wasn’t happy, I don’t think it would bloom like this.
So I took my time and photographed it.
In black and white, the flowers look softer and more dramatic at the same time. The petals catch the light, while the background falls into darker tones, and it makes the bloom feel like it’s floating. I like this effect because it strips away distractions. Instead of thinking about color, I end up noticing texture, the folds of the petals, the thin stems, the tiny shadows between overlapping flowers.
I also took photos of some ferns growing on the side of the palm tree trunk. I always find that interesting, how these plants choose a home wherever they can, even on a rough tree surface. The fern leaves have their own pattern too, layered and detailed, like small feathers. They don’t need to bloom to look beautiful. They just exist quietly and still manage to look elegant.
I’m quite delighted today, it’s Sunday, I’m already feeling well again, and I managed to go for a long walk too. Whenever the weather is great, I don’t want to waste it. If the morning is kind, I walk. If the afternoon still feels good, I walk again. That’s my simple way of appreciating the day.
Have a great Sunday ahead, and thank you for viewing my photos.
