I just came back from my walk, and of course, I have a few photos to share with you guys. And yes, they are black-and-white photos again, hehe. At this point, I think everyone already knows how much I enjoy seeing the garden through monochrome.
Among the different types of vines growing in the garden, this one has always been my favorite. One reason is how easy it is to maintain. It grows quite fast without demanding too much attention, which makes it a very practical plant to have around. Despite needing only a little care, it rewards us with beautiful flowers. In their natural color, the flowers are a bright yellow that easily catches the eye.
For these photos, however, I decided to remove that beautiful color and focus instead on the shapes, textures, and contrast of the plant. The lighter flowers stand out nicely against the darker leaves, while the veins and smooth surfaces of the leaves become more noticeable. This is one of the things I appreciate most about black-and-white photography. Taking away the colors sometimes allows us to notice details that we might otherwise ignore.
I also find something interesting about this vine beyond photography. It reminds me that not everything beautiful has to be difficult to maintain. Sometimes, the things that quietly grow with just enough care can eventually give us something wonderful in return.
Maybe life works in a similar way. Consistency does not always have to be complicated. A little effort given regularly can eventually produce something beautiful.
Anyway, I’m happy that my walk gave me another opportunity to photograph one of my favorite plants in the garden.
