It isn't the size of the gift that matters but the Heart that gives it
It was last year December, and my wedding was coming up on the 29th. I needed to change the phone I was using then so badly, as it became too small to serve me in terms of internal storage memory and camera quality, this frustrated me a lot.
But with the continuous rises in the price of every commodity in the market I had no idea of how I can get the money for the quality of phone I needed.
So, our wedding was eating deep into our pockets as we continue to check our wedding list one after the other. I kept thinking of how badly I needed a phone but have no idea how I will get the money. However, was very positive I will change my phone even though it will take me a few months to save and get it. The thing is I can no longer afford to stay for as long as a month without changing my old phone. As most of my online activities depend on it, including my blogging on the hive.
One of my under uses supper power is that, when I want something all I need to do is to set my mind to it and be positive about it. And somehow I will get whatever I want. But I have to want that thing badly and set my mind to it.
One day I told my fiancee, that I'm going to change my phone even though I don't know how I can raise the kind of money I need to do that but I was dammed positive as I needed it badly. The power of positive thinking you may call it
There was one of my good old customers from my honey store, who I had informed about my wedding, and he jokingly told me he won't be able to attend our wedding but will make sure to send me a wedding gift. I never took him seriously, for some reasons I can't remember.
Not until December 30th, when I woke up in the morning and checked my phone and saw N100,000 thousand naira which is equivalent to $178 as my wedding gifts from him. Luckily for me, my phone budget was between 70k-85k in Naira.
I called this gift an unexpected, yet perfect wedding gift. As I wasn't expecting such financial support from him.
I got my phone the following week and it still serving well up till now馃槉.
I haven't gotten the chance to set my eyes on him ever since then to show my appreciation to him, as I had to relocate with my husband to another state immediately after the wedding. We have only spoken twice on the phone since then as he is not the kind that likes lots of calls.
