One employee sudden resignation can be a little devastating if one is not experience with such.

It reminds me of when my sister's sales rep from her boutique store decided to resign with just a day notice . Her reason was, she was a hair stylist before getting the job with my sister and there has been a new opening at her former boss shop where she learnt hair stylist

It took the assistance of our younger cousin who was on school holiday to stepped in for her before she got a new replacement.

My advice, don't take it personal see it as something that's bound to happens while sourcing for a new replacement .
