Kids often have the wrong perception that teachers are having an easy life.
They may see teachers going home early for some days and they have the benefit of working in an air-conditioned environment when they are out of their classrooms.
The truth is many teachers may not even complete their work and they have to pack their work back home to complete.
Many Singapore teachers have many professional development courses to attend so they have to leave after school hours in the afternoon to attend them.
When they have to attend such courses, they would have left their marking for that day alone or they would bring them home to mark at night.
Many teachers have to organise different learning programmes and out of the classroom activities.
Some of the experienced ones would also need to conduct workshops for teachers from other schools as a way to develop others in the teaching fraternity.
The best reward that teachers get may often be the gratitude and achievements from their students.
