I think we do that because the new culture is PC culture where we dont need to understand others as long as they agree to the dogma of "everyone is the same", which is wrong and simplistic and serves only to boil down and steem roll over real genuine cultural differences.

Interesting, I never thought about that before, at least not that precisely, how the "everyone is the same" PC attitude literally flies in the face of appreciating culture.
