I can't say this enough: I love the way you see things. So damn much. Right now if you told me the earth is a big dragon, I'd definitely seriously consider it. It's crazy.

😊😊

it could also just as easily be the opposite: a group of greedy people looking out for their self interest and that of their family

ya, definitely! I assume they're self-interested for sure. But that with the long-term focus it can be more orderly and work out better.

One thing is I think power is always temporary and kind of an illusion, like..

the king can decide to cut everyone's toes off, whereas a democracy never really would do that. But then, that's kind of a bad tactic for the king, because the more obviously bad you are, you risk causing a revolution.

So I think guiding the ship "well" and making life decent for people is a part of maintaining control.

So the interests are largely aligned, but then the king leeches and takes benefits where he can.

And some kings/rulers might be terrible at it. So maybe living under a democracy is a little calmer or more predictable.

But I think kings have a higher ceiling 😛 a king who is doing it well will crush a democracy

lower floor / higher ceiling

(but of course I think absence of ANY rulers, and totally decentralized p2p world is better still and the most secure and stable)

Reason 1: I guess I've always had a soft spot for the U.S. They taught me a lot of stuff tbh. And even though right now that feeling has changed a lot LOL I still sort of feel a kind of loyalty to em i guess.

that's cute and nice

and remember the changes lately are usually just the loudest mouths!!

tons of money centralized in one spot and they're all trying to get it 😼 and then everyone fights on twitter as an aftershock

Reason 2: I always say this, the evil you know is a 1000 times better than something you don't know. If China ever wins that war and become the superpower America is, I can assure you with all we've seen, they'd be a 1000 times more f'd up.

yaaa, in general I feel the world is tipping to be better and better all the time.. so I'm hopeful that even if China became the strongest, it would be a softer, different China than what we imagine right now.

all eyes would be on them and everyone demands more peace

and plus as long as the US remains kind of close, it'll be hard for them to run rampant with any big wars.. so maybe "power" won't really mean what it used to, it'll be like "oh okay, they have big factories and make lots of stuff".

and US can make up for its wars by keeping China in check

and also the Earth is a big dragon and believe it or not she's hugging you 🤷‍♂️
