Despite the fact that "tree" is a term of basic speech, there is no all around perceived exact meaning of what a tree is, either organically or in like manner language. In its broadest sense, a tree is any plant with the general type of a prolonged stem, or trunk, which bolsters the photosynthetic leaves or branches at some separation over the ground.Trees are likewise regularly characterized by height, with littler plants from 0.5 to 10 m (1.6 to 32.8 ft) being called shrubs, so the base tallness of a tree is just freely defined. Large herbaceous plants, for example, papaya and bananas are trees in this wide sense.

A generally connected smaller definition is that a tree has a woody trunk framed by auxiliary development, implying that the storage compartment thickens every year by developing outwards, notwithstanding the essential upwards development from the developing tip. Under such a definition, herbaceous plants, for example, palms, bananas and papayas are not considered trees paying little mind to their stature, development shape or stem bigness. Certain monocots might be considered trees under a marginally looser definition; while the Joshua tree, bamboos and palms don't have optional development and never deliver genuine wood with development rings, they may create "pseudo-wood" by lignifying cells shaped by essential growth.

Beside basic definitions, trees are regularly characterized by use, for example as those plants which yield amble
