Ehm. Yeah That's very simplified explanation. I've watched recently some youtube video where someone tried to explain how does it all work and it does sounded more like:
"thanks to Quantum computing we can" steal "resources from different dimensions, dimensions we do not understand. And we use those resources in our world to speed up computing process".

At the end of the day, it does look like we're playing around with something as huge (or even more powerful) than nuclear energy, without really understanding nature of world behind Quantum physics. Very scary thing.

Correct, when I heard these terms and read about this subject, I thought of nuclear energy, something that has the potential to be used for dual purposes, for peaceful or military purposes. In addition to the millionaire investment that this represents would only be available to large corporations as you mentioned later.
