Hello, Hivers!
Do you know when you have a belief that a certain situation occurred or the way a certain thing looks like, and after discussing it with somebody you realize that all you had was a false memory?
I remember when in 2013 the "word" of Nelson Mandela's death was out and it took the whole population by surprise.
But not because everybody was desolated, the truth was half of the world was shocked by his death, and the other half was also shocked BUT because they thought Mandela died during his years in prison.
I went on a ramble on how that was possible if nobody knew how to read a history book, how they didn't remember being president all that was a bit weird to me.
That's when I found out about the "Mandela Effect"
Apparently, there was a belief that Mandela died while imprisoned, this rumor gain force at the time because a "self-identified paranormal consultant" detailed his death in the '80s.
After the whole world was aware of this effect people went crazy looking for things they believed looked a certain way but had nothing to do with their imagination.
Lots of pictures comparing things side by side started popping, with the true design and the popular belief.
But it can happen to anyone when you are less expecting.
My boyfriend and I use to watch history tv shows and about discoveries, and one of those times he asked me if I could say what was on the top of Tutankhamun's mask.
If there's one thing I've visited more than I can count was Ancient Egypt exhibitions, Louvre's exhibition alone took me hours!
So this was a non-issue for me, a snake!
Jokes on me! I was a victim of the Mandela Effect too!
The common belief is wrong, King Tut's Mask has a snake but also a bird!!!
Also, keep in mind next time you're watching "Star Wars", Darth Vader's quote actually is "NO, I am your father."
"Mandela Effect" is a very deep rabbit hole, but is a nice way to test your memory, why not try it?
From slogans to movies, there are hundreds of things to figure which one is true.
