There is no reason for asking for permission to stop doing the weekly updates. I know your situation and also know from my own experience how hard it is try to make and keep a community active.
I think it's not only the Cycling Community that has this issue, but that it is a broader issue. A low number of active Hivers results in less active communities.

I really appreciate the effort that you have put into this community and hope that you will still keep doing and publishing your cycling adventures here.
