Here's one of my favorite birds (from the archive). Many years ago I visited the Galapagos where I found out about the Blue Footed Boobies (Sula nebouxii).
I just couldn't stop taking pictures of these goofy looking birds.
With their remarkable blue feet they are beautiful birds.
The colour of their feet comes from carotenoid pigments obtained from its diet of fresh fish.
The males use their feet in their mating ritual to impress female boobies.
The brightness of the blue color decreases as they age.
I was able to get really close because they don't really have real enemies on the Galapagos.
