"Poor writing skills aren’t just upsetting you; they may be hampering your career.“ Practice does not always make perfect, a writer cannot work in isolation, this will not improve his/her writing skills. To level up, you must step outside of your comfort zone.

1.Wite what you know about

Read through the topics carefully.

  • Dismiss any topics you do not like, do not understand, or to which you cannot relate.
  • Be careful that you do not write off the topic - you will be penalized or this.
  • Avoid the topic if you are unsure of the formate e,g, dialogues, diary entri3es or reports.
  • Choose a text type and topic that suits your personality and ability.
  • Be original but avoid far-fetched, unrealistic situations. You may, however, be required to write an imaginative story for a particular audience.

2. Write full sentences

Every sentence should contain
a subject and finite verb

  • A participle is not a verb and cannot stand on its own.
    Walking across the road. X
    The girl was walking across the road.

Maybe your proposals fall flat or you dread penning quarterly reports. Perhaps you sweat over emails, only to have the recipients demand clarifications. Or writing might just take you too long, making you exhausted once you’ve finally done that last spellcheck.
