I Joined An English Camp At Anugerah Ilahi Villa | Study Tour Experience
Hi everyone! How's your day? I hope u all have fun.
I'd like to tell u a story about my tour while learning English. But before that, i'm gonna tell u a little about the current me first.
I'm a course student at PEC (Practical Educational Center). I take an English course there. There are so many PEC branches scattered throughout Indonesia, and i take a course at PEC Susukan, which isn't far from my house. I've been taking English course for about 4 months. And it made my English skills improve than before, so i was chosen to join a course event called "PEC English Camp".
PEC English Camp was held at Anugerah Ilahi Villa for a day. It was 4 days ago, exactly on October 2nd, 2022. The place is in Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia. I went with my course teacher @hezhakakkoi, my good friend
@chelll, and 2 other course mates.
At first, we gathered in PEC Susukan at 5:30 AM. Then we went to the Grand Depok City by car.
Arrived at Grand Depok City, we met the other PEC students and teachers from several branches in Depok. We're about to ride the PEC bus from there.
But before that, all the students formed groups. There were 10 students and 2 mentors from different branches in each group. And in total there were 11 groups. @chelll were in group 6.
And the mentor wasn't my teacher, but the teachers from the other PEC branch, they're Ms. Fitri and Ms. Syifa.
Before we rode the bus, we have breakfast first. All the students were given bread and milk.
After that, we rode the bus. The trip was about 2 hours long.
We arrived at Anugerah Ilahi Villa at 8:35 AM. We listened to the guide's instructions carefully then marched in towards the gate. In that place, we can only speak English.
In front of the gate, each student was tested for their English skills by QnA (Questions and Answers) with mentors about self. If successful then get a golden ticket. The questions were so easy and not too many for me, so i got the golden ticket.
When i got in there... Wow! The place is really amazing! The courtyard is so spacious. There are so many kind of trees around, beautiful fish ponds, some bird & chicken cages, and more great spots!
These are some unique fish ponds.
Well, i think this is my favorite fish pond in that place.
It has a unique fountain and a lot of fishes.
And surrounded by lotus flowers.
At 9:45 AM, we gathered in Pendopo (a house for gathering or discussion) to have a tea break time. Everyone got free cups of tea. Not only tea, there were also coffee and milk.
The pendopo is completely unique. It's very wide and the wall is full of Jepara teak carvings.
After tea break, we were assigned to interact and make friends with other PEC branch students. To be honest, most of the students who selected to join in this event are elementary school students. Am i the only high school student selected there? Well, so most of my new friends are elementary school students.
Okay, we're done being friends. It was 10:30 AM, that was time to go to several posts. We learn, play and practice our English skills in every post.
First, we went to post 6, we played the "Jumble Word" game. Or u can call this a "Scrabble" game.
The game wasn't too difficult. We just need to listen to the clues from the mentor and arrange the words according to the clues.
In the post 7-9, the games were similar to each other. But only the theme was different. We just need to line up and tell the names of the objects in the picture.
In post 7, the theme was Animal & Verb.
In post 8, the theme was Occupation & Adjective.
In the post 9, the theme was Our Body & Fruit.
Then in the post 10, we played "Guess The Words" game.
The way to play was, we chose the card provided by the mentor. Then on the card, there are 5 words with some letters missing. So we just need to guess it by writing it on the whiteboard. The mentor gave the clue and described it.
Post 11 is Photogenic. This is a photo contest. We had to take pictures with good poses and backgrounds, either alone or in group. The group with the best photo would win.
Next, we went to post 1. We met a native speaker there.
We had a conversation with him by asking him about himself. And he also asked us some things. Honestly, i'm so glad cuz it's my first time interacted with a foreigner :D.
We were also took a picture with him.
The last post is post 2. We met PEC alumni there. Her name is Ms. Ina. She has graduated from PEC Depok Lama. She has been on the course for about 8 years. Just like before, we interacted with her by asking about her. After that she also asked us back.
After that, our group took a photo with her.
After we finished visiting the posts, we back to the pendopo for a break.
We pray Zuhur together at Hayya 'Alal Falah mosque. The outside of this mosque is being renovated, but we could still enter it. The mosque also has beautiful carved teak woods.
After pray, we had lunch. They provided free lunch for us. We were given fried chicken rice and free drinks.
We finished our break at 1 PM. Then we visited Mr. Puji's house, the owner of PEC throughout Indonesia.
His house is really big like a palace. It has 3 floors and a unique model. The items in the house are also unique.
This is 3rd floor.
We have visited Mr. Puji's house. Then our group rode a Jeep car and went around Anugerah Villa.
We passed Fortune Villas.
There are interesting sights along the way.
Then we back to the courtyard.
After that we took pictures in traditional clothes.
At 2:30 PM, there was a seminar. The seminar presented by the Host, Ms. Ina, and Mr Puji. This event wasn't boring. They motivated us with their speeches.
After the seminar was over, i took a picture with Mr. Puji.
Then we were back to Hayya 'Alal Falah mosque to pray 'Ashr.
Lastly, before we all went home, we played at mini amusement park available near Anugerah Villa.
Me and my friends played the ferris wheel and swing boat rides. U know? When i played in ferris wheel, it was fun and relaxing. But when i play swing boat, i felt nauseous. Lmao. But it's okay, it's exciting.
Finally, we went home at 4 PM. Everyone was happy and satisfied, and so was I. Then 3 days later, i mean yesterday, my teacher @hezhakakkoi came to my house to deliver something. It's a souvenir mug from Anugerah Villa.
Alright guys, that's enough of my study tour experience story. I hope these great memories will never be forgotten. Thanks a lot for visiting my post.
See ya next time! :D
