Will Sanders (born 1965) has taught Horn at Conservatorium Maastricht since 1995. In addition, he teaches at the University of Music Karlsruhe (Germany) and is a member of the educational team of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the National Youth Orchestra of Germany. He gives masterclasses and workshops worldwide.
Sanders studied at Conservatorium Maastricht, where he was awarded the Hustinx Prize in 1988. He joined the European Union Youth Orchestra and continued his career as a soloist with the National Theatre Mannheim, the SWR Baden-Baden Symphony Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra.
He has played with chamber ensembles such as the Linos Ensemble, German Brass, Mullova Ensemble, and the Wind Art Ensemble. He has performed as a soloist in the USA, Japan, France, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands (including at the Jonge Mensen op het Concertpodium series [Young People on the Concert Stage])
and he also participates in projects and festivals in Germany, Sweden, Spain, Columbia and Brazil. He has performed as a guest with prominent orchestras in Germany and with the Vienna Philharmonic, and has performed under many renowned conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Colin Davis, Bernard Haitink, Zubin Metha, James Levine, Daniel Barenboim, Carlos Kleiber, George Solti and Pierre Boulez.
Will Sanders has collaborated so far with the most outstanding directors of our time, as well as with the main orchestras in Germany, and has been a guest musician in the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to his orchestral work, he has made CDs and recordings for radio and television and is a regular soloist on an international level.
