Hi friends today I will talk about what a symphony orchestra is. It is a group or musical group, normally very large and is made up of different family of stringed instruments, wood, metal and percussion. the orchestra comes from an area in front of the stage reserved for the choir.
A symphony orchestra normally manages to settle for 80 musicians. In very few cases does it have more than 100 musicians, depending on the repertoire they are playing or the place where they go to perform.
The coast symphony orchestra of 4 groups of instruments and those are:
String section: This section is composed of 40 violins, 8 to 12 violas or more, 8 to 12 cellos or more, 5 to 8 basses or more, 2 harps and a piano. The amount of instruments always depends on the repertoire that the orchestra is performing.
Wood section: This conformed by 2 oboes, 1 as English, 2 flutes, 1 picolo flute, 2 clarinets and 2 fagost. On several occasions also include contrafagots, picolo clarinet, bass clarinet and saxophones.
Metal section: It is composed of 2 to 5 trumpets, 2 to 8 French horns, 2 to 3 tenor trombones and 1 or 2 low trombones and 1 or 2 tubas. Sometimes baritone, picolo trumpet and cornet are also added
Percussion section: This section is very broad and consists of tympanis, drummer, bass drum, cymbal, xylophone, triangle, piano, etc. It varies a lot depending on the work.
