The 2017 draft class has been hyped as one of the strongest in years and so far I think it might be true.

The Hype
This year the draft class has been said to be one of the deepest ones in years before most of these players have even played a game! I thought a lot of the hype had to do with the general age of the draft but the summer league is showing me up with my opinions very early on!
The Summer League so far...
As I mentioned earlier the summer league is still young as we have only seen some teams in action. However, the games I have seen the players who were actual draft picks whether it be the first or second round picks have mostly looked NBA ready and a lot of these guys are still really young. I just finished watching The Celtics with the number 3 pick Jayson Tatum vs The 76ers and their number 1 draft pick Markelle Fultz and I must say I was blown away by the talent. The other games have not seen as many other 1st round lottery draft picks apart from Jonathan Isaac who has also looked very solid.

Excited for the future
I have not even seen a big enough sample size to make a real decision but I am really excited for the future of the NBA when we have young teams forming and grooming players in a way the League hasn't really ever seen before. This I will call it "Process" that teams are doing in the time that they know they can't compete is a strange step but it seems to have good long term plans and it now leaves a fan like me extremely excited to see what the future holds for these young "mini-super teams"!
