Today is the first day of us being back on the road. We have jumped a few states and covered nearly 500 miles. There seems to be atleast one consistent thing...the people.
I believe it is beyond questioning that humans are the true virus on this planet. We have already hit the "overshoot day". This is the day that the humans have harvested all the natural resources for the year. So that means that the rest of the year we are consuming from the future.
There is alot of good and alot of love in this world, but there is alot of neglect. How can we think that it is a good idea to cut, plow, burn, and destroy the same planet that provides for us.
I recently listened to a song that made a pretty interesting point. We throw a fit about plastic straws in paper wrappers, but we are ok with paper straws in plastic wrappers.
Where I come from, they call this "stinkin' thinkin". Do something over and over again that isn't good for yourself or others, even when you know it will.
This isn't a gripe or vent post, but a nod to the real issue. We are losing our minds because there is a wild virus on the loose, but are closing our eyes to other issues.
I think what we are seeing lately is not an act of love for others, but an act of selfishness. It is only when someone fears the outcome that they will speak out. So we get scared people that are vocal about making everyone wear a mask, but take no real stance on things that don't directly impact them.
When I see the world, I try to see it from a distance. Imagine watching the world from the sky looking down. Watching the people continue to kill their home while telling others how to do it better.
We don't deserve something this loving and beautiful that provides our air, water, and food But if we got what we actually deserved....well....I think we are about to see what we deserve. reference the above picture of the paradox trash
Be well
