This morning was a very early one for me. I got up at 6:30..yikes, and the sun wasn't even up. I did find one of my kids already up and going for the day. It is nice to get some quiet time to just hang out.
I shot the video with a view of the sunrise this morning. The moon is still just a slice in the sky, and the colors are getting brighter over top of the barn. It is such a beautiful day. We are going to spend the day inside for sure. It is currently -4 degrees F.
Today is a special day for us here. We have a birthday in our house. It is my youngest kids birthday. We have a whole day set aside just to spend with her and make her feel the love we have for her.
We do things alittle differently than most. When it comes to special times like Christmas and birthdays. We don't just throw money and gifts at people, but we do things that make those people feel special. To show them that they are special to us!
With Christmas we do a set 3 gifts with a simple wrapping paper and twine. It is awesome, and it looks like old time parcels. When it comes to someone's birthday, they get the whole day.
The birthday person gets to pick what we do for the whole day. They get to pick all of the meals. They get to pick all of the activities. If we watch a show or a movie together, they also get to chose that.
It is a simple gesture that we believe really shows the person how important they are. We give them the most valuable thing we have..our time. In a progressively digital world, it is never to late to get back to connecting with people. Try making eye contact and really connecting.
