Don't you hate it when good deals go bad. I can't believe all of the amazing deal making that happened this past week, and then how quickly it all went sideways. Needless to say, we are not getting that shuttle bus.
So for those that are not familiar with what I am talking about, this past week I made a smoking deal on an amazing rig. I found an E450 shuttle on a car lot down outside of Detroit.
It is the van type of shuttle. The kind that looks like a van in the front, but has the side doors like a bus. It was an amazing set up, but it didn't work. It was listed on Craigslist for one price, I was told another price on the phone, and then I found a third very very low price on their personal website. With all of the back and forth, I got them to honor the price on their site. It was a ridiculous deal.
Everything was going great until I called my insurance person back. They said it would be no problem and everyone was kind and optimistic. When I actually called back to get the final quote it was like pulling teeth.
I was trying to insure a commercial vehicle as a person vehicle and it seemed like no one was willing to do that. When we finally found someone that would do it, the cost of insurance was nearly four times as much as my Suburban, and was more than it even cost to buy the shuttle.
And that was the lowest quote!!!
So here we are moving right along. We can't get caught on little set backs like this. I view them like doors, either they are going to open or they're not. So that one didn't open, so what is the next one. We are going to start looking into 15 passenger vans. We have a feeling that they might be the right tool for the job.
Thanks for joining me on this wild adventure. I know that vlogging everyday can be boring, but we knew that 2020 was going to be exciting. Stay tuned!
Be well
