Have you ever thought about how adult humans are like babies or dogs? I hope that got your attention! The words seem rough, but the idea holds pretty solid. Actions being based on rewards, and the idea of "what's in it for me".
When we are first born we cry. When we cry something happens. Most often the first thing that happens when we cry as a new born baby is we get fed. From that moment forward our brains are wired for an action and a response.
As we continue to function in the "adult" world, the theme is the same. We do something, and then there is a response. We go to work, we get paid. It is a basic exchange of energy for a result. Like a dog that does tricks and then gets a treat.
Is it possible that it has gone too far? Is it possible that the very action/response mechanism is in our very DNA, and now we can't even do anything without expecting something in return?
As Stacie D and I continue to build businesses and communities this is something that we often see, especially in the crypto ecosystem. Whenever there is a potential for a benefit either tokens or cash it is always the same. When someone has an amazing project we always see people responding to them with the attitude of what is in it for them. Not just our community, but others as well.
If we are so conditioned that we respond to every situation selfishly, because we have been doing it so long...is it possible to still be selfless? I'd like to hear from you. Can you recall an example of an adult not acting like a baby? Let's see it in the comments below!
