Coming on the heals of a pretty unproductive Witness Chat on the Steem Blockchain, Stacie D (@freedomtowrite) and I were chatting about what people actually need. There is a basic need that sometimes we all have...We just need some help.
That's right, it doesn't matter what we are doing, sometimes we just need help. We need guidance and we need information. We need basic instructions to really get the ball rolling.
I have had jobs in the past where I was just thrown in. Show up at this address, on this day, at this time, talk to this person, and go. That was awful. I was new to construction work. I was supposed to drive somewhere that I had never been. I was supposed to walk through a commercial job site, which is something I had never experienced, and then find and talk to someone that I had never met. Sure!!!! Sounds simple.
Truth is I could have used more information. I could have used a tour. It would have been nice to meet the foreman before my first day, and to walk through the job site before I was just thrown into the mix.
So on that note, Stacie D and I were talking more about what is happening with Steemit.com. There are some great ideas that are flying around, and there is alot that is happening. One glaring thing that was pointed out was the fact that it is absolutely not user friendly, and that there is no place to actually find helpful answers.
There was a recommendation by some community members for something like a help desk. We think that is a great idea. So much so, we are going to start talking with our developer right away about the possibility of creating a help desk for new users on our front end.
We currently have a website/front end and it is https://www.theinnerblocks.com. Over the next couple of months we are expecting a roll out of our website version 2.0 which will put everything in line for the upcoming SMT (smart media token), meaning we will run our own crypto token on our website.
When that relaunches it will move to the URL www.innerblocks.com. From there we will work to market and advertise and bring in new users. We fully plan to not throw unknowing users into the deep end, but hopefully provide a friendly way for them to learn.
When I think about community, business, and even life in general I recognize this fact....sometimes we just need some help.
Be well
