I was out on the farm today cutting up some firewood, and the whole time I was thinking about what is going on with the Steem Blockchain. Steem has been a major part of my life since 2017, and now there is a large shake up. I have been reading, watching, and listening to as much as I can. I'm trying to get enough data to make decisions.
As I was cutting, I was thinking about the actual task. I was cutting a pile of logs, and turning it into smaller pieces. There is alot that is going on here though that you may not notice. With each cut I have to make sure that my feet are secure and safely out of the cutting space. I have to make sure that the logs aren't going to move while I am cutting, and potential hurt me or pinch my saw. I have to make sure that I am clear of where the cut piece will fall.
That is alittle more thought that just whacking away on some log. When I cut wood, it is just as mental as it is physical. There is alot of planning, and it really wears me out. It doesn't matter though. My goal is simple. Cut one piece at a time.
When there is a pile of logs that is ready to become firewood, it looks like there are hours and hours of work. It can be very overwhelming. It is hard to see all of that work ahead of me, and still get motivated to actually start. So I make it as simple as possible. Cut one piece at a time.
If I focus on one piece, and then the next, and then the next....eventually I am standing on a pile of firewood.
I think that is what is happening right now in our world. With everything that is happening with the virus, and the economic shake up. With the blockchain changes. It can all be very over powering. It can beat us down, and we don't even know what to do next. It leads to panic and stress. When all we want to do is continue to move forward.
Like all things, this too shall pass. It will for sure look different when it does. Our world will be different. Our economy will look different. Our blockchain experience will look different. The only thing that I think I can do is just keep going. I'm not sure about everyone else, but when it comes to sorting it all out...I'm going to do it one piece at a time!
