Take two! I am jumping right into the second installment of Freedompoint's freedom points today. I love getting to share my life with everyone. Sometimes my thoughts don't really line up with the rest of the world..and that's ok.
I had a bit of an issue for this past week. I think I pulled or strained my psoas muscle. It is a very important muscle that we always seem to not pay attention to. Anyway, I angered this muscle by falling down a hill. Sure it was a two foot hill, but dang.
I was coming from the shop back to the house when my kids hollered for me to come try their sledding hill. It looked harmless enough. It wasn't very big. I actually made the hill with the tractor while plowing the snow. The only issue was the back side wasn't a nice sledding hill, but a shear drop.
So I walked on over thinking YOLO, and I had seen the kids doing it a bunch so no big deal. Oh it was a death trap for sure, they were just dodging fate. So I go to sled and they said " no, you have to be up on your knees and backwards".....that should have been a warning.
So I climbed up on the sled facing backwards and up on my knees. My middle kid the inventor told me that I had to tuck my feet in and them hold the front of the sled. Not the direct front, but both hands had to be over toward the left side. I thought that seemed legit. Here I go.
BOOM!
Straight down. I slammed my hip into the ground. I slammed my right elbow straight into the ground which sent a shock through my whole body. Instant pain and panic. Everything is ok...I can see you all are sweating..i'm ok. haha
After all of this I was talking to Stacie D and she was very encouraging. She reminded me that it is ok that I hurt from falling only two feel...she says "besides, you weren't trained to take that kind of fall" haha I love her.
So I hope you all are having an amazing day, and I will see you tomorrow.
Be well
