What we believe is what we know..that is how I would describe the basis of our understanding of what God is. There are many different texts from around the world that shine different lights onto what the source could be.
Have you ever thought about how you know what you know about God. Did it come from what your family told you? Did it come from something you saw on television? Did it come from something you read?
When it comes to sorting through what I believe, I have to keep an open mind. I have found that I am a seeker. A seeker of truth. A seeker of connection. A seeker for what is beyond my current experience. It has come to my attention that once someone decides to dig in on what they call truth...they are no longer seeking...they have found...and may get stuck where they are.
Is it possible to be strong in your faith and not "know" everything. Yes. I am sure you can believe in something. Believe means to be fully convinced. So if you were fully convinced..then had a new experience...added new information...and then you were fully convinced of that...then that would stand to mean that you could live a fully faithful life while still learning about who and what God is.
All foundations come from somewhere.
Be well
