When we first started with deep mulch gardening it was pretty weird. We didn't know what to do, and we felt we were not doing enough.
Over the years though, we have settled into the idea that it doesn't take much maintenance. So today I am taking you with me for a quick tour and some watering while chatting about the deep mulch.
Here in southern Missouri it is super hot. We are in a long dry spell, and today will be only the third time I have watered the garden all season.
The wood chips hold the water and keep the soil healthy. It gradually breaks down and becomes more of that beautiful black gold .
