When the sun is shining, there is no telling what you might find outside. Since we have been in the house we are currently in, I have seen many birds and squirrels, a turtle, a groundhog, and several snakes.
Today was a hot one. It was in the low 90°'s F, with a heat index of 98°F. We decided to make this a day to run errands, but we had no idea it would be so hot. We spent hours in hot parking lots just cooking in our own juices. There was a bright side. I found a snake!
We were just getting home from our trip to town, and as I was pulling into the driveway I saw this little guy making his way across the drive.
Maybe something is happening as I am getting older, and I am getting a bit more adventurous. I am also getting more curious. So, I had to check it out.
This was the biggest snake I have found in a while. It was beautiful. It was black with a white belly. I am sure that it will be back for some eggs down the road.
For now it was about just checking it out, respecting it, and letting it go. I can't wait to see what I find next!
Be well
