A nightcrawler? Looks more like a small snake!
Today I was finishing up and cleaning the mess I made yesterday. I was walking around the roof and using the water hose to remove debris and things that had obviously been there for years. For some reason there seemed to be alot of junk that settled into some really weird spots.
While I was working on the roof, I was also cleaning out the gutters. I was scooping out the gutter mud by the hand full. It was so thick it even had baby trees growing in it. Needless to say, I just threw the mucky mess down onto the ground below. Along with the discarded pieces of gutter guard.
Cleaning up the mess that I had made turned out to be a pretty big job. I was at it for a good while. There was mud and moss all over the ground, and there was more build up on some raised decking. It looks like it had not actually been cleaned up in years.
The point of this whole post is the gigantic worm!!!! I love worms. I love everything that they do for the environment, and how they clean up the ground, and especially how they take care of the plants in the garden.
I was spraying and cleaning up a big clump of muck from the gutter, and when it fell apart, this giant wiggler fell out. It stretched all the way out and was atleast a foot long! I have not seen a worm this long in a long time. We didn't see many worms on the farm where we were recently at, and then the homestead before that barely had any.
I love that this land is so fruitful. When we were planting the garden, there were so many worms. It just feels like we are surrounded by life. I know that I went to the trees to feel alive and to feel peace...and I am loving everything I am finding!
Be well
